Anahata’s Museli Recipe


It’s great to make your own muesli as you can flavour it to your own taste, and of course it doesn’t have as much added sugar as store bought muesli, so it’s better for you.

You can be quite flexible with the ingredient quantities, and make your own desired mixture.  Here is a guide to get you started.


  • 6 cups oats (can use a mixture of quick oats and jumbo oats)
  • ½ cup each sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, chopped almonds, cashew pieces
  • 1 cup shredded coconut
  • 1 cup oat bran
  • 1 T cinnamon powder
  • 2 t vanilla extract
  • ½ cup oil
  • ½ cup honey or brown rice syrup
  • 1½ cups dried fruit


Mix together all the dried ingredients except the dried fruit.

Add the vanilla extract.

Mix the oil with the sweetener by heating slightly, and pour over the dried ingredients.

Spread the granola mix evenly onto a lined baking tray.

Bake for 35 – 45 minutes at 180˚C, turning the muesli every 5 – 10 minutes. During the last few minutes of baking, add the dried fruit.
