4-week Elemental Yoga Immersion: Hatha Yoga & Yoga Nidra Relaxation Class at The Sandcastle

Welcome to a 4-week Yoga Immersion Series. Teacher Ali will be bringing you a mix of Hatha Yoga and Yoga Nidra in a progressive sequence of themes.
Join the class for the whole series or on a casual basis.
Hatha Yoga translates as sun and moon yoga – helping you to bring about balance of the body and its energetic network, prana.
Yoga Nidra is the practice of yogic sleep where sense withdrawal, pratyahara is taught to induce a deep relaxation. Read the full benefits of Yoga Nidra on our blog.
Suitable for every levels from Beginner to Advanced. No previous experience required.

Week 1- (Tuesday 3rd September) Earth Element
This class will be focusing on the Earth element. Time to surrender and let go of the physical tensions, giving freedom to the bones and joints of the body. Working with asanas that strengthen and stretch muscles of the pelvic floor, hips, and legs. After relaxing into a 30 minute yoga nidra with an earth themed visualisation.
Week 2– (Tuesday 10th September) Water Element
This class will be working with the fluidity of the movement led by the constant cycle of breath. Witnessing the breath in the body during each pose, working with pranayama at the end of asana practice. The relaxing yoga nidra will have a water themed visualisation.
Week 3 – (Tuesday 17th September) Fire Element
This class will be focused on the fire element working with strengthening the core and invoking heat in the body moving through surya namaskara sun salutations. Working with revitalising asana, and empowering asana. In the yoga nidra there will be extra emphasis on the sankalpa (personal resolution) to help to manifest goals.
Week 4– (Tuesday 24th September) Air Element
This class will be focusing on the air element, looking at the patterns and fluctuations of the mental mind and exploring ways for the attention span to lengthen, improving one pointedness and mental stability. The yoga nidra will have an air themed visualisation.

Ali is a qualified yoga teacher and has completed 500 hr Hatha training in Rishikesh India, 150 hrs restorative yoga and yoga nidra at Anahata Yoga Retreat, NZ. She has also attended few workshops for Yin Yoga. She has 3 years of yoga teaching experience in Amsterdam, America as well as NZ. She is also a keen dancer and has 8 years of dance teaching experience prior to her yoga journey.
