2023 Anahata Festival Schedule

Anahata’s Swami Karma Karuna will be hosting two workshops at Nelson’s Evolve Festival.

This celebration of old customs and new ways to transform the health and wellbeing of individuals, the community and the earth. Feed your mind, soul, heart – and tummy! Share knowledge about sustainable living, hear inspirational leaders and visionary pioneers – and dance, laugh and play. With so much on offer, there is something for everyone.

We will be holding a havan (sacred fire ceremony) as part of the Evolve Festival opening ceremony

Release Old Patterns & Build New Brain Pathways

Learn the science and art of simple Mindfulness Meditation techniques and experience practices to release old patterns, build new brain pathways and generate optimal mental, physical and emotional health.

Explore the art and science of mindful breathing including preparation movements and simple techniques for health, energy and nervous system balance. Wake Up and Energise Yoga – Karma Karuna Saraswati

Wake up, activate your energy and balance your mind and body with traditional Hatha Yoga and
Breathing practices. All bodies welcome. There will be guidance for those who need modifications
to suit their needs.

Resilience and Self Nourishment – Karma Karuna Saraswati

Stress is a leading cause of mental and physical health imbalances, emotional challenges, family
and societal tensions.  Learn tools to stay balanced and build resilience. Enjoy a practical and
theoretical session to understand more about stress and resilience, learn the simple science behind
it and take away tools for nourishment and well-being at all levels.

SATURDAY 4th FEB // 7PM / HAUORA

Kirtan – Anahata Yoga Retreat

Open your heart and clear your head with “kirtan”, an active sound meditation. Join Anahata Yoga
Retreat for joyful singing and dancing in this uplifting yoga practice of singing of transformative
mantras.

Conscious Relationships — Karma Karuna Saraswati

Life is full of relationships–professional, romantic, family, community; They can be a source of
happiness or challenge. Past conditioning, present experiences and our self-view influences how
we connect to and communicate with others. Explore yogic practices that assist in positive
communication skills and the ability to remain more balanced in relationships.

THERAPEUTIC YOGA & PSYCHOLOGY 1:1 SESSIONS

Swami Karma Karuna will be available for 1:1 health and healing sessions throughout the festival with books and yoga support products also available for purchase.

Teachers

Swami Karma Karuna is a founding member and director of Anahata Yoga Retreat, New Zealand. She is an engaging, intuitive yoga and meditation teacher, international speaker and writer with more than 25 years of training and experience in a range or areas. She brings real life experience, years of building knowledge, humility, humour and compassion together to inspire students and share the transformative journey of teaching yoga and growth on the spiritual path.

Swami Karma Karuna is a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP), a IAYT Yoga Therapist, a Senior Teacher of Yoga Australia and New Zealand as well as a Swami of the Bihar Yoga lineage. Her wide range of teaching includes yoga teacher trainings, Continuing Education courses for various organizations, international events and spiritual sadhana retreats around the world.
