Workshops with Swami Karma Karuna
The Art and Science of Gratitude. Sunday 7th Feb 9:00am in Te Ra
The science on gratitude is out and it is good for us at every level; enhanced well-being, deeper relationships, improved optimism, more release of the feel-good hormones, increased happiness, stronger self-control, better physical and mental health, an overall better life and more.
With these amazing benefits, gratitude should be a requirement! However, it can sometimes be difficult to experience in the hustle and bustle of life and a world full of challenges like a pandemic and global warming. Thus, like anything in life that we want to become good at, we need to practice it.
Learn about the science behind gratitude, how and why it supports our health and well-being, why it can sometimes be difficult to practice and explore tools to cultivate this important quality. Leave with inspiration on how to set up gratitude habits. Bring a pen and paper for a gratitude exercise, experience a gratitude meditation and some heart-opening yoga practices.
Conscious Relationships. Monday 8th Feb 4:30pm in Te Ra
Life is full of relationships–professional, romantic, family, community; They can be a source of happiness or challenge. Past conditioning, present experiences and our self-view influences how we connect to and communicate with others. Explore yogic practices that assist in positive communication skills and the ability to remain more balanced in relationships.
Participants will be invited to explore in partners their strength and weakness as well as past conditioning they bring to relationships. They will also learn and practice some tools for healthy expression, to direct energy, manage anger and emotions, a breathing practice to create a gap in order to act instead of reacting as well as a meditation tool to support the development of mindfulness, which is an essential ingredient both for the relationship with ourselves as well as with anyone else.
