Overview

Our ability to adapt, adjust, accommodate and find a new way forward requires us to step into our source of resilience. Yoga builds resilience in the body and mind by introducing small amounts of stress in a controlled scenario. This can then be mirrored off the yoga mat, in our everyday lives.

Key learnings:

  • Identify why resilience is important, how the practices of yoga & meditation can help to create the relaxation response
  • Train the body and mind to respond rather than react
  • Calm the nervous system through yogic practices like conscious breathing, yoga nidra & restorative yoga
  • Create new neural pathways that favour equanimity and resilience

Note: There will be a replay recording available for 30 days if you are unable to attend the live event, this will also be added to the FxMed Education Portal once the recording becomes available.

Swami Karma Karuna

Swami Karma Karuna is a founding member and director of Anahata Yoga Retreat, New Zealand. She is an engaging, intuitive yoga and meditation teacher, international speaker and writer with more than 25 years of training and experience in a range of areas. She brings real-life experience, years of building knowledge, humility, humour and compassion together to inspire students and share the transformative journey of teaching yoga and growth on the spiritual path.

Swami Karma Karuna is a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP), an IAYT Yoga Therapist, a Senior Teacher of Yoga Australia and New Zealand as well as a Swami of the Bihar Yoga lineage. Her wide range of teaching includes yoga teacher trainings, Continuing Education courses for various organizations, international events and spiritual sadhana retreats around the world.
