The mind is gradually trained to connect into tranquility effortlessly. Ultimately the practice works on the mind to release impressions from the past and anxieties about the future. It helps us to retrain the nervous system and create new neural pathways that support the relaxation response. Yoga Nidra is a powerful tool to enable the parasympathetic nervous system and enhance deep sleep\, thus supporting health and well-being at many levels.= \nDIAPHRAGMATIC BREATHING \nWhen we have the ability to alter the breath at will\, we are nourishing and optimising many bodily functions while managing the mind and emotions. Different basic breathing methods will be explored with the aim of developing the diaphragmatic breath\, which is one of the fastest ways to influence the vagus nerve\, responsible for turning on the relaxation response in order to help the body restore itself after states of stress. It is also an important factor in healthy digestion\, influencing gut health\, the microbiome connected to the immune system and important neurotransmitters such as serotonin. \nRESTORATIVE YOGA \nRestorative Yoga will be explored using the Pawanmuktasana Joint series\, which brings both the body and mind into a harmonious state\, supporting the flow of prana in the system and restoration. Other postures specific to supporting the relaxation response will also be examined in relation to adrenal glands\, breath connection and mindfulness. We will also delve into a more classical understanding of Restorative Yoga\, regarding props and extended time periods in supported postures. Restorative Yoga has been shown to support the dismantling of chronic tension patterns\, enhanced immune function and effective cellular respiration. It has also proven to reduce hypertension and mental and emotional stress to facilitate more homeostasis in the body-mind structure\, returning it to a natural state of ease and equilibrium. \nTHIS TRAINING IS DESIGNED FOR… \nYoga Practitioners who want to delve deeper in their personal practice and learn how to manage stress effectively.\nYoga Teachers who want to develop new skills and deepen their understanding of yogic concepts and lifestyle.\nHealth Professionals who are looking for effective tools to support clients.\nMedical and health professionals\, psychiatrists\, psychotherapists and yoga teachers are using these practices in a variety of settings including schools\, offices\, community centres\, drug and alcohol rehabilitation\, prisons and nursing homes. They may be effective in the management of: \nStress\, Anxiety\, Insomnia & Depression\nPost-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)\nAddictions\nHigh Blood Pressure and Heart Disease\nRespiratory conditions\nNeurological conditions and motor impairments\nChronic fatigue and adrenal issues\nDigestive Issues\nAsthma and Diabetes[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4LT1v7FcLM” align=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column]ADDITIONAL INFORMATION[vc_column_text]This training is Module 1 of our 300-hour Relaxation and Meditation Teacher Training (Intermediate to Advanced) \nModule 1: Yoga Nidra & Restorative Practices (150 hours)\nModule 2: Meditation and Pranayama (150 hours) Students can take one or both of the modules\, and are not required to have taken Module 1 to take Module 2. \nBook both modules of our 300-hour Relaxation and Meditation Teacher Training (Intermediate to Advanced) at the same time\, and receive a 10% discount. \nTaking both modules in order is the best way to get the most out of the training\, as Module 1 covers educational prerequisites that will be further expanded upon in Module 2. SUMMARY:Active Hope: Deep Ecology & Yoga Retreat
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nAnahata Yoga Retreat is delighted to welcome Inna Alex who will be hosting the Active Hope – Deep Ecology & Yoga Retreat gathering at our Golden Bay Retreat. Kindly note that the teachings included in this gathering may not reflect Anahata’s tradition and philosophy. \n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\nJoin us for an extraordinary\, heart-felt journey into enhanced connection and empowerment through Deep Ecology & Yoga \nWhy join this Deep Ecology retreat? \nWe are alive at an extraordinary moment in time. It is a time of growing uncertainty\, yet also time of great possibility when creativity\, courage and collective action can help cultivate change. This is a time when many of us are seeking ways to reconnect to one another and to the living Earth. \nDeep ecology is a holistic approach to facing the current challenges on Earth that brings together thinking\, feeling\, spirituality and action. It involves moving beyond the individualism of Western culture also seeing ourselves as part of the Earth. This leads to a deeper connection with life\, where Ecology is not just seen as something ‘out there’\, but something we are a part of and have a role to play in. \nIn this retreat\, we will draw on the work of Joanna Macy\, John Seed and Arne Naess. We will use theories and interactive practices from The Work That Reconnects to reconnect to out own true nature\, the web of life\, and to our human community. \nThis work supports us to experience first hand that we are larger\, stronger\, deeper\, and more creative than we have been brought up to believe. Opening our hearts and our minds to the love\, the grief we feel for our world\, empowers us to act on behalf of the Earth. \n[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/FOVxwBVYf1I”][vc_text_separator title=”RETREAT INFO” color=”black” style=”shadow”][vc_column_text]\nThis retreat combines the transformational journeys of Deep Ecology and Yoga under the guidance of experienced facilitators in a nurturing and safe environment. \nIn the Deep Ecology sessions\, you will be guided through the four stages of the spiral of the The Work That Reconnects in a journey of experiential practices\, poetry\, ritual\, song\, movement and silence. We explore and deepen our connections to Self\, each other\, and all Life\, in order to take part in the Healing of our World. \nYoga brings us into balance and harmony\, giving us the ability to enjoy life\, fulfil our potential and find our true identity. We will be practicing traditional yogic practices including Asana\, Pranayama\, Yoga Nidra\, Havan and Meditation. These yogic practices will encourage us to tune into both the universal nature alongside our own. \nWe hope that a combination of the two will empower you to act on behalf of Earth with clarity\, love and direction. \nNo previous experience in either Yoga or Deep Ecology necessary. \nTake a look at our blog titled – Deep Ecology – What’s it all about? Here we interview Inna Alex about her experiences of Deep Ecology and why the movement is important. \n[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”11267″][vc_text_separator title=”ADDITIONAL INFO” color=”black” style=”shadow”][vc_column_text]3 nights\, shared accommodation (unless camping) with meals and full retreat programme\, including: \n\nFour stages of the spiral of The Work That Reconnects: experiential practices\, poetry\, ritual\, song\, movement and silence.\nHatha yoga classes\nGuided meditation\nYoga Nidra (deep relaxation)\nFire Ceremony (Havan)\n\nStart Time: 2pm Thursday\, 25 April\, arrival / registration\nFinish Time: 3pm Sunday\, 28 April \nRetreat Cost:\nShared Accommodation Price: NZ$540-690*\nCamping Price: NZ$490-640* \nEarly Bird Discounts: $50 off\, if payment is completed by March 31st. \n*Prices include: admin fee\, shared accommodation (unless camping)\, all meals and the full retreat programme. \nBYO bedding\, or hire bedding at additional charge.   \nPayment is due in full within 3 days of booking\, unless arranged otherwise. \nCancellation policy: Any payments are refundable until 10 days prior the event\, minus a $50 non-refundable admin fee. SUMMARY:India Retreat 2024
DESCRIPTION:Tattwa Shuddhi Sadhana: A Journey of Elemental Purification\n\nRikhiapeeth Ashram\, India \nThe Tattwa Shuddhi course will be led by Swami Karma Karuna under the direct guidance of Swami Satyasangananda Saraswati\, the Peethadhishwari of Rikhiapeeth Ashram. \nTattwa Shuddhi is a dynamic meditation rooted in the Tantric Tradition. It is designed to cleanse and harmonize the tattwas or elements within the practitioner’s body. The process involves asanas (postures)\, pranayama (breathing exercises)\, the chakras (energy centres)\, mantras (sacred sounds)\, yantras (geometrical forms) and meditations. The course will also include theory and offer a well-balanced approach with practical applications for your daily life. \nThe word tattwa denotes the different principles or factors which comprise our embodied personality. Tattwa also signifies ‘that-ness’ and refers to the Reality which underlies our embodiment. The five fundamental elements that constitute the human body and the universe are Earth (Prithvi)\, Water (Apas)\, Fire (Agni)\, Air (Vayu)\, and Ether/Space (Akasha). \nThe word shuddhi literally means ‘purification’\, but in the context of the practice we can understand the word to mean ‘exploration’. Therefore\, Tattwa Shuddhi can be translated as a practice or exploration of the different dimensions of our existence to reveal what we are in Essence. \nRetreat participants will be introduced\, step by step\, to the different facets and stages of Tattwa Shuddhi. It is a process of exploring\, refining and expanding the idea of who we are by dissolving the imbalanced facets of the mind and unconscious conditioning which keep us locked in unhealthy patterns of being. The practice leads one to the stillness within\, bringing clarity of mind\, and receptivity; opening the practitioner up to the fullest potential. \nThe course is held in a traditional ashram environment offering integration into ashram life programs such as special rituals\, chanting and seva (selfless service). \n\nOption 1: Diwali: Festival of Lights Celebration & Tattwa Shuddhi Sadhana ~18 nights\n29th October – 15th November\n\nIncludes: Hotel in Kolkata\, Travel to the Ashram\, Diwali Celebration & Tattwa Shuddhi Program at Rikhiapeeth Ashram \nNZ $2\,995*\n\n\n\n Option 2 : Diwali\, Tattwa Shuddhi\, Ashram Immersion & Sat Chandi Mahayajna ~ 39 nights\n29th October – 7th December\n\n\nIncludes: Hotel in Kolkata\,  Travel to the Ashram\, Diwali Celebration\, Tattwa Shuddhi Program\, Sat Chandi Maha Yajna & Ashram Lifestyle Stay at Rikhiapeeth Ashram \nNZ $3\,495*\n\n\nAbout Diwali – The Festival of Light\n\n\n\n\nThis auspicious time of year\, considered to be the Hindu New Year\, symbolizes the spiritual victory of light over darkness\, good over evil\, and knowledge over ignorance. Associated with Lakshmi\, the Goddess of Abundance & Prosperity\, Diwali is a time for sharing\, giving\,and savoring the sweetness of life. Havan and Pooja are performed to open our energy to the universal grace of giving and receiving with equanimity\, to become selfless in our actions\, and to dedicate our lives to the benefit of all. On the eve of Diwali the Ashram becomes radiant with the light of thousands of candles representing how our own inner light becomes magnified when in the company of other luminous souls.\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Sat Chandi Mahayajna – Celebrating God as the Mother \n\nGoddess Chandi\, a form of Durga\, is said to be the remover of negativity from the world. She represents the universe itself. This energy is invokedto dispel the negative forces that limit and contract us so that we may be fully open to the experience of abundance. This 5 day yajna celebration is dedicated to the Cosmic energy\, Shakti\, and holds the greatest significance in terms of the history and tradition of Rikhiapeeth. Started in 1995\, the Sat Chandi Mahayajna became a means of reaching out to countless families from the surrounding villages; to spread the blessings of peace\, plenty and prosperity in each home and family. Participating in the distribution prasad to thousands of villagers over the 5 days is the highlight of this festival. \n\n\n\n“Yajnas confer peace\, plenty and prosperity through the medium of divine energy that is invoked by mantra and ritual… It is not asana or pranayama or Dhyana…this is yajna\, where the mind\, intellect and intelligence have no role to play.  In this situation child-like innocence and spontaneity pay higher dividends than intellect.” Swami Satsangi \n\n\n\n\n\n About Ashram Life\n\n\n\nIntegrate the experience of Tattwa Shuddhi by immersing yourself in the daily activities of the ashram\, by practicing Karma Yoga / Seva alongside the ashram residents. The basis of ashram life is selfless service. The ashram lifestyle reveals to us how to become free from the dictates of the mind and regain control over our life. In today’s day and age this has become most relevant\, as the ashram lifestyle makes us aware of our immense potential and enables us to give that a constructive direction. We learn to direct and expand the mind by adopting the spirit of selfless service\, which in turn blossoms in our life as creativity and excellence in thought\, word\, and deed. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nWe are offering 4 online Q & A & practice sessions & about our India Retreat\, check out sessions here [ONLINE] India Q&A\,  [ONLINE] Chakras & Tattwas: Hatha Yoga and Meditation Masterclass\, [ONLINE] Practice\, Presentation & India Q&A  and [ONLINE] Purification through the Chakras & Tattwas \n$950 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT is due at the time of booking in order to secure your space.\nEARLY BIRD: 10% Discount: Ends 25th July 2024 use code INDIA10\n\n \n\nBookings Close & Payment in Full due: 31st August 2024\n \nFrom 1st October ALL PAYMENTS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE\nCancellations received after 31st August and before 1st October 2024 are refunded 50%\nof full payment minus the deposit.\n \nA limited number of Scholarships are available.
