It is a fully guided accessible meditation practice that plays with the state between waking and sleeping\, allowing us to explore ‘being’ in a world of ‘doing’. \nImplemented in 8-week sections\, students will have the opportunity to learn about the origins of Yoga Nidra\, experience the many benefits and applications and explore a variety of tools such as visualisations\, Sankalpa\, breath awareness and relaxation techniques. We cover each stage of Yoga Nidra in-depth and delve into the science behind this powerful tool of the ‘yogic sleep’. \nEach week covers a new topic that builds upon the next. We encourage you to follow the weekly structure which progresses you through the course in a way that supports a fuller understanding of Yoga Nidra. However\, the course is self-paced and can be completed in whatever time frame suits you. Each week we invite you to reflect in the provided self-reflection journal. Observe yourself during your practice of Yoga Nidra and notice how it is enhancing\, supporting and inspiring your daily life. \nThis is an inclusive course. All bodies and levels of experience are welcome\, including absolute beginners. Throughout the course you are welcome to contact Swami Karma Karuna\, who will be available to help answer questions and offer support. You will also be invited to live Q&A sessions over zoom\, bi-monthly during the course. These will be recorded and uploaded to the course platform. The course is a total of 40 hours. All course content will be available to you for six months. \n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n\nThe Benefits of Yoga Nidra\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n– Gives the senses a deep rest from the activities of contemporary society \n-Trains the mind to connect into tranquility effortlessly \n-Releases impressions from the past and anxieties about the future \n-Effective management in the management of stress\, anxiety\, insomnia & depression \n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\nPlease send any questions to education@anahata-retreat.org.nz\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\nCLICK HERE TO PURCHASE THE COURSE THROUGH OUR THINKIFIC PAGE\n  \n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n\nSwami Karma Karuna\n[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”10127″][vc_column_text]\n  \nSwami Karma Karuna is a founding member and director of Anahata Yoga Retreat\, New Zealand\, and a dedicated\, intuitive yoga teacher with years of experience working with a wide range of people. \nFrom an early age\, she travelled exploring diverse spiritual traditions; finally dedicating herself to the yogic path\, guided by Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati. One who walks the path of Sadhana through dedicated practice is known as a Sadhaka. \nThe first week is focused on learning a complete practice of Yoga for your personal Sadhana. This is based on Hatha Yoga techniques which include: Shatkarma (Purification) Asana (Posture) Pranayama (Breath) Bandha (Locks) Mudra (Seals) Mantra (Sound) and Kriya (Meditation). \nThe second week is an exploration of the Chakra system which features a specific meditation for each Chakra and a complete practice which combines them all. Advanced Hatha Yoga techniques are introduced to channel the flow of energy to the specific Chakras. \nThroughout the Sadhana\, Yoga Nidra is incorporated for complete relaxation of the body and the mind\, combined with the practice of Sankalpa\, an affirmation of the Souls intent. \nTo deepen the experience\, philosophies and practices from Jnana Yoga\, Bhakti Yoga and Karma Yoga are integrated. \n\nJnana Yoga is self-inquiry through studying sacred scripture and mediation.\nBhakti Yoga harnesses power of emotion\, cultivating love and devotion with ecstatic song and dance\, known as Kirtan.\nKarma Yoga is conscious action performed with a meditative state of mind.\nTogether\, these aspects combine to create an integrated approach to Yoga\, tailored for modern times.\nKey scriptures for the course are: Hatha Yoga Pradipika\, Gheranda Samhita\, Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and Bhagavad Gita.\n\nThis training is suitable for practitioners who have prior experience in Hatha Yoga. Above all\, a stable mind and a courageous heart are essential for all Sadhakas embarking on the journey of Sadhana. \nEvery individual must find their own path and walk it. This is your Dharma. \n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n\nAdditional Information\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n\n108 Hours \n\nInvestment: NZD $2200 \nThere is space for 18 Sadhakas. \nEarly bird discounts and scholarships are available for a limited time. \nApply via www.yinculture.com \n\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”9778″ alignment=”center” lightbox_custom_img=”8608″][/vc_column][/vc_row] URL:https://www.anahata-retreat.org.nz/event/yoga-sadhana-training CATEGORIES:Online Courses END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20220626 DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20220627 DTSTAMP:20260325T215941 CREATED:20220614T221029Z LAST-MODIFIED:20220616T074732Z UID:9704-1656201600-1656287999@www.anahata-retreat.org.nz SUMMARY:Satyananda Yoga for Restoration & Resilience Online Workshop DESCRIPTION:[vc_row gap=”35″][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nJoin Swami Karma Karuna for a 3-hour online program exploring restorative practices within the Satyananda system of Yoga. Let your mind rest and enjoy a different\, deeper kind of reflection and relaxation that will leave you wiser\, and more ready for the challenges of life. Whilst Power of Awareness can be attended as a stand-alone gathering\, we highly recommend attending our Traditional Hatha Yoga Shuddhi Gathering to prepare the body\, mind and energy to go deeper into meditation. If you choose to book both the Traditional Hatha Yoga Shuddhi & Power of Awareness Gatherings as a package\, you will receive one free night of meals and accommodation in between the two gatherings  \n\n\n\nRenowned meditation teacher\, Swami Anandakumar\, takes a fresh and direct approach to meditation which is effective for both the beginner and advanced practitioner. The combination of ancient yoga techniques with well-timed\, intuitive guidance\, aimed at the modern mind\, helps each person to find their way to deeper levels of awareness through access to their own intuitive experience. \nThese meditation practices will be balanced with Hatha Yoga\, Yoga Nidra\, Karma Yoga\, Kirtan and Havan (fire ceremony) to actively encourage a self-explorative approach to meditation and provide a gentle way to balance the mind and realign the awareness toward your own inner nature. \nWith more than 35 years experience Sw. Anandakumar helps to bring harmony to meditation practice\, outlining a working ‘road map’ in order to harmonise any conflict with the body-mind and find your way forward. This allows your meditation practice to come from a place of inspiration rather than a feeling of obligation\, which is uplifting even as you begin to face up to yourself. Let your mind rest and enjoy a different\, deeper kind of reflection and relaxation that will leave you wiser\, and more ready for the challenges of life. \nRenowned meditation teacher\, Swami Anandakumar\, takes a fresh and direct approach to meditation which is effective for both the beginner and advanced practitioner. It’s a jumping off point for a deeper self-discovery. \nThe focus of this inspiring retreat is on Awareness in Meditation. A fast breath equals a stressed mind\, unfocused emotions and a sick body. A slow\, deep breath equals a calm\, balanced and focused mind\, health & well-being.\n\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”8325″][vc_column_text]\n\nOverview\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n\nThis weekend will explore prana through Asana\, Pranayama\, Mudras\, Bandhas\, Mantras\, Chakras including Prana Vidya theory and practices. Prana (energy) Vidya (knowledge) is an ancient and powerful meditation that deals with the system of prana for healing and spiritual awakening. Knowledge of Prana is knowledge of the universe. Everything moves because of Prana\, it is source\, means and destination. Prana Vidya is both a final goal of total awakening and it is also a process\, which focuses on activating\, directing and enhancing the vital energy. \nThe key to the ‘knowledge of prana’ is its applications into daily life\, learning to use our energy consciously\, conserve and build it.  Explore the science behind the breath\, the importance of the relaxation response and its connection to our physical\, mental and energetic experiences. \n  \n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”8556″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]\n\n  \nChakra illustrations by Turid Ousland. Ajna and Manipura Chakra are both important in relation to Prana and Prana Vidya practices. All the chakras will be touched upon during the retreat. \nDelve into Mudras\, which are gestures and expressions of particular states of consciousness and energy. Do you wish you had a greater capacity to cope and adapt to adversity? Are you wanting to intentionally respond to life rather than react?  Luckily\, our inner resilience is a natural part of who we are and is a trait that we can strengthen\, cultivate and build upon.\n  \n* The EARLY-BIRD DISCOUNT has been extended till Jan 22nd *\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n\nOverview\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\nResilience is our ability to come back to our centre\, to rebound from adversity and to respond to a challenge in a creative way. Resilience is vital; without it\, we wouldn’t survive the accumulated hardships\, transitions\, and stressful situations that are present in even the most privileged people’s lives. The change we are all facing on some level due to the Covid-19 pandemic can be difficult to navigate with grace. At our Yoga & Meditation Retreat you will learn how to strengthen your body\, mind\, energy and nervous system during this time of uncertainty and learn tools to take away into your daily life. Our ability to adapt\, adjust\, accommodate and find a new way forward requires us to step into our inner source of resilience. \nThe weekend includes theory\, yoga\, breathing and meditation as well as self-reflection exercises to help cultivate this quality. Yoga builds resilience in the body and mind by introducing small amounts of stress in a controlled scenario. This can then be mirrored off of the yoga mat\, in our everyday lives. For example\, the next time you’re experiencing frustration toward a family member or current situation\, you might find it easier to come back to the breath and respond rather than react. We will identify why resilience is important\, how the practices of yoga & meditation can help to create the relaxation response and why it’s important in this day and age. \nAll bodies and levels of experience are welcome. \nTo download the full info pack\, click HERE \n  \n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\nIncludes\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n• Techniques to train the body and mind to respond rather than react \n• Ways to calm the nervous system through yogic practices like Yoga Nidra and pranayama • Practices to create new neural pathways that favour equanimity and resilience • Support to raise your vital energy so your batteries are charged enough to face whatever arises in life \n• Mindfulness Techniques to develop positive attitudes in the face of challenge • Hatha Yoga and Breathing sequences to calm and simultaneously strengthen the nervous system • Deep Relaxation with Yoga Nidra and Restorative practices \n• Connect and share with a community of like-minded people \n• Massage and Reflexology treatments available for additional cost.
