A yatra cultivates supportive conditions to investigate our relationship to self\, others and our environment in order to deepen our sense of interconnection.  \nThe program will provide a flexible combination of silent periods for yoga\, meditation\, and reflective walking (wandering)\, as well as time for facilitated exercises\, workshops\, group circles\, and artistic expression. Enable personal healing & shed whatever may be holding you back.\n  \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row gap=”35″][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nRetreat Overview\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]We all have areas in our lives we would like to improve upon\, but there is often something holding us back. Whether it is challenging relationships\, health issues or other blockages in moving forward\, beneath the surface of these external manifestations lies negative patterns of behaviour that prevent us from connecting with the deepest part of ourselves\, and thus prevents us from experiencing and becoming the best version of ourselves. \nDuring this weekend retreat\, we will look at the Koshas\, or layers of our embodiment\, and learn how our reality is actually born from our own karmic tendencies and patterns of behaviour. Using basic Chakra psychology\, we will learn to identify and trace the problematic patterns back to the root of their physical expression so we may discover the most optimal tools in asana\, pranayama and meditation to achieve greater understanding and personal healing. \nFinally\, we will add in an understanding of numerology and the yogic philosophy of the soul’s manifestation in order to reveal a map of the multi-dimensional nature of the soul to see how the human earthly experience fits within it. This will allow us to begin to understand how our own Functional Perspective creates a reality of patterns and karmas. By the end of this retreat\, you will have the understanding and tools to manifest right action and change the course of your life![/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”6464″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row gap=”35″][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nThe Retreat Programme Includes\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]3 nights\, shared accommodation (unless camping)\, all meals and the full retreat programme. \n\nHatha Yoga classes\nSmall Group Discussions\nGuided Meditation\nDaily Chanting\nKirtan (singing mantras to music)\nDaily Yoga Nidra (deep relaxation)\nKarma Yoga (action with meditative awareness\nFire Ceremony (Havan) and Chanting (healing sound vibration)\nA Labyrinth*\n\n*We are offering the experience of a Seven Ringed Labyrinth\, as a walking meditation. Contrary to a maze\, which has options and dead ends\, the labyrinth is a single path that weaves back and forth on itself giving the illusion that you are getting further away from the source when in fact every step you take is getting closer to it. It is a wonderful metaphor for the spiritual path. \nThe labyrinth will be occurring on Sunday 23rd after the retreat comes to a close\, if you would like to stay an extra night to experience this walking meditation then we are offering an extra night’s stay for just $120 + koha in exchange for Shivani’s facilitation of the labyrinth. We encourage participants to bring a sacred object\, like a small or medium sized crystal\, to leave on the path inside the labyrinth as an offering of gratitude to the Divine Mother.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”6465″][vc_column_text]\nAdditional Information\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Start Time: 5pm onwards Thursday 20th February – arrival/registration\nFinish Time: 11am Sunday 23rd February \nComplimentary pick up: Thursday 20th February 6.10pm Golden Bay Visitor Centre\, where the Golden Bay Coachlines bus will drop you off if traveling to Takaka from Nelson.\nComplimentary drop off: Sunday 23rd February 11am back to Golden Bay Visitor Centre\, where the Golden Bay Coachlines bus will pick you up from if traveling from Takaka to Nelson.\n \n\n Special Dietary Requirements: All meals provided are vegetarian. Literally it means ‘the great night of Shiva\,’ a night in which we honour Shiva\, considered the first yogi and the embodiment of high consciousness.   \nThere are many legends associated with this festival; it is said to be the day when Lord Shiva drank poison\, representing negativity\, in order to protect the world. However\, instead of killing him\, he was able to absorb the poison and integrate it\, symbolizing facing the ups and downs of life without being influenced. \nMaha Shivaratri also marks the union between Lord Shiva and the goddess Parvati\, the meeting of Shiva (consciousness) and Shakti (energy). \nCelebrated each year on the 4th night of the new moon\, during Krishna Paksha in the Hindu month of Phalgun\, which falls around the months of February or March.  \n\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]The Maha Shivaratri celebration will start at 5pm with Havan\, Abishek and Kirtan. Havan is an ancient fire ceremony from the ancient Indian Vedic tradition where we use mantra and fire for means of transformation. \nKirtan is a joyful and uplifting mantra practice that originates from the Bhakti yoga tradition. In Kirtan we sing the mantra in call and response\, it is a practice that brings connection to our hearts and to the present moment through sound. \nAt 6.30pm\, the program will conclude with a delicious vegetarian meal.   \nDon’t miss this opportunity to come together as a community on this special evening of Maha Shivaratri to uplift and raise the vibration within us and around us. \nPlease RSVP before 12pm Saturday \nPhone: +64(3)525-9887\nE-mail: yoga@anahata-retreat.org.nz[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\nExplore other yoga retreats and events\n[/vc_column_text]Raja Yoga – The Royal Pathway to Mastering Your MindMarch 4\, 2024The depth of yoga that is understood and shared in our modern times is primarily touching the tip of the… Read moreBuilding Resilience with Yoga and MeditationMarch 4\, 2024What is Resilience No matter who we are\, the state of the bank balance or which country we live in;… Read moreClean Your Glasses with MeditationMarch 4\, 2024“The way one see’s life\, is like looking through a pair of glasses\, formed at a young age. It is a time of growing uncertainty\, yet also time of great possibility when creativity\, courage and collective action can help cultivate change. This is a time when many of us are seeking ways to reconnect to one another and to the living Earth. \nDeep ecology is a holistic approach to facing the current challenges on Earth that brings together thinking\, feeling\, spirituality and action. It involves moving beyond the individualism of Western culture also seeing ourselves as part of the Earth. This leads to a deeper connection with life\, where Ecology is not just seen as something ‘out there’\, but something we are a part of and have a role to play in. \nIn this retreat\, we will draw on the work of Joanna Macy\, John Seed and Arne Naess. We will use theories and interactive practices from The Work That Reconnects to reconnect to out own true nature\, the web of life\, and to our human community. \nThis work supports us to experience first hand that we are larger\, stronger\, deeper\, and more creative than we have been brought up to believe. Opening our hearts and our minds to the love\, the grief we feel for our world\, empowers us to act on behalf of the Earth. \n  \n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\nRetreat Overview\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]This retreat combines the transformational journeys of Deep Ecology and Yoga under the guidance of experienced facilitators in a nurturing and safe environment. \nIn the Deep Ecology sessions\, you will be guided through the four stages of the spiral of the The Work That Reconnects in a journey of experiential practices\, poetry\, ritual\, song\, movement and silence. We explore and deepen our connections to Self\, each other\, and all Life\, in order to take part in the Healing of our World. \nYoga brings us into balance and harmony\, giving us the ability to enjoy life\, fulfil our potential and find our true identity. We will be practicing traditional yogic practices including Asana\, Pranayama\, Yoga Nidra\, Havan and Meditation. These yogic practices will encourage us to tune into both the universal nature alongside our own. \nWe hope that a combination of the two will empower you to act on behalf of Earth with clarity\, love and direction. \nNo previous experience in either Yoga or Deep Ecology necessary. \nTake a look at our blog titled – Deep Ecology – What’s it all about? Here we interview Inna Alex about her experiences of Deep Ecology and why the movement is important. \n  \n[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”6940″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]\n Facilitator Training Optional Extra\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]This add-on option is available for workshop participants wishing to step into facilitating The Work That Reconnects or those already facilitating who wish to join a community of facilitators for experiential sharing. \nTwo co-creative sessions (one pre- and one post-workshop) support your own transformational Deep Ecology journey as well as to gain confidence assisting others on the path to coming back to life. \nThe first session will offer theory about the four successive stages of the work\, group facilitation basics\, and pointers for observing and learning from workshop facilitation during the weekend. Following the workshop completion\, we will have an extensive de-brief\, involving both practical aspects of facilitation and workshop layout as well as reflections on our personal journeys. \nInvestment = + NZ $70-90 for both sessions – 23 Oct 9.30-11.30am & 26 Oct 1-4.30pm\n [/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2411″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]\nThe Retreat Programme Includes\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]3 nights\, shared accommodation (unless camping) with meals and full retreat programme\, including:\n \n\nFour stages of the spiral of The Work That Reconnects: experiential practices\, poetry\, ritual\, song\, movement and silence.\nHatha yoga classes\nGuided meditation\nYoga Nidra (deep relaxation)\nFire Ceremony (Havan)\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\nAdditional Info\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Start Time: 11:30am Friday 23rd October arrival / registration\nFinish Time: 12pm Monday 26th October\n \nOptional pick up: Friday 23 October 11am pick-up at Golden Bay Visitor Centre (+$15)\nOptional drop off: Monday 26 October 12.15pm back to Golden Bay Visitor Centre for 1pm bus (+$15) \nInvestment*\nStandard Price: NZ$480-590\nCamping: $450-560\nEarly Bird Discounts: Take $50 off payment if completed by October 2nd.\n*Prices include Shared Accommodation (unless Camping)\, all meals and the full Retreat Programme \n\nDeep Ecology retreat with Hui Option\nStart Time: 9:00am Friday 23 October arrival / registration\nFinish Time: 4.30pm Monday 26 October\nInvestment = + NZ $75-90 for both sessions – 23 Oct 9.30-11.30am & 26 Oct 1-4.30pm\n  \n\nContact: earthcarenz@gmail.com for more information.\nSpecial Dietary Requirements: All meals provided are vegetarian. We can also influence our relationships positively\, support optimal well-being and gain access to inner resources that help us to meet our goals and live an inspired life. \n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n\nAdditional Information\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\nInvestment: $90 for the whole day and $60 for 1 workshop \nVenue: YWCA hall\, 21 Rust Ave\, Whangārei \nFor bookings and more information\, please contact Radhe: shraddhayoganz@gmail.com OR: 027 3928 220 \n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n\nSwami Karma Karuna\n[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”8117″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSwami Karma Karuna Saraswati is an engaging\, intuitive yoga and meditation teacher\, inspirational speaker\, writer and Yoga Therapist with 30 years of experience. \nA co-founder and director of Anahata Yoga Retreat\, New Zealand\, she also travels throughout the world\, leading workshops\, training yoga teachers\, presenting at international events such as Bhakti Fest\, USA\, the International Yoga Festival\, NZ\, Yoga Australia Conference\, Melbourne as well as guiding spiritual sadhana retreats around the world and offering therapeutic one to one yoga sessions. \nShe is passionate about sharing an authentic and down to earth approach\, weaving together the ancient practices with a touch of psychology and brain science aimed at motivating people to live their yoga here and now. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row gap=”35″][vc_column][vc_row_inner el_class=”two-column-lists”][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2/3″][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nExplore Other Retreats & Events\n[/vc_column_text]Developing Resilience Online CourseHosted by: Anahata Yoga RetreatWith: Swami Karma KarunaJuly 1\, 2022 - July 1\, 2024Havan (Sacred Fire Ceremony) – Every SaturdayHosted by: Anahata Yoga RetreatNovember 12\, 2022 - December 28\, 2024Nervous System Reset 2024Hosted by: Anahata Yoga RetreatMay 19 @ 6:30 pm - July 14 @ 8:00 pmView All Retreats and Events [/vc_column][/vc_row] URL:https://www.anahata-retreat.org.nz/event/whangarei-workshops-swami-karma-karuna LOCATION:YWCA Hall\, Whangarei\, YWCA hall\, 21 Rust Ave\, Whangārei\, Whangārei\, New Zealand CATEGORIES:Anahata Retreats END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20210523 DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20210524 DTSTAMP:20240511T014527 CREATED:20210329T003630Z LAST-MODIFIED:20210329T003824Z UID:8417-1621728000-1621814399@www.anahata-retreat.org.nz SUMMARY:Being in Balance: Yoga Nidra\, Prana Nidra and the Nadis DESCRIPTION:[vc_row gap=”35″][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nBalancing our prana\, nervous system and relaxation response. A fast breath equals a stressed mind\, unfocused emotions and a sick body. A slow\, deep breath equals a calm\, balanced and focused mind\, health & well-being.\n\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”8325″][vc_column_text]\n\nOverview\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n\nThis weekend will explore prana through Asana\, Pranayama\, Mudras\, Bandhas\, Mantras\, Chakras including Prana Vidya theory and practices. Prana (energy) Vidya (knowledge) is an ancient and powerful meditation that deals with the system of prana for healing and spiritual awakening. Knowledge of Prana is knowledge of the universe. Everything moves because of Prana\, it is source\, means and destination. Prana Vidya is both a final goal of total awakening and it is also a process\, which focuses on activating\, directing and enhancing the vital energy. \nThe key to the ‘knowledge of prana’ is its applications into daily life\, learning to use our energy consciously\, conserve and build it.  Explore the science behind the breath\, the importance of the relaxation response and its connection to our physical\, mental and energetic experiences. \n  \n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”8556″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]\n\n  \nChakra illustrations by Turid Ousland. Ajna and Manipura Chakra are both important in relation to Prana and Prana Vidya practices. All the chakras will be touched upon during the retreat. \nDelve into Mudras\, which are gestures and expressions of particular states of consciousness and energy. By using them consciously\, the practitioner directly and indirectly influences mental and emotional states\, health and well-being. With the use of mudras\, the practitioner can consciously awaken\, balance and redirect Prana to influence the physical and subtle aspects of the body and mind. \nExperience Prana Nidra and other Prana meditations to learn how to enhance the flow of energy in your body as well as conserve and direct Prana for health and wellbeing\, as this is an important key to healthy organs\, optimal endocrine system\, balanced weight\, mental and emotional clarity and equanimity. \n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n\nFor a free taster\, check out Swami Karma Karuna’s Salute to the Moon recording here\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n\n\nSchedule with Swami Karma Karuna\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]First session on Friday at 06.30 NZT (20.30 Norwegian Time) and last session on Sunday at 17.00 NZT (07.00 Norwegian time). \nDaily Sessions:  \n06.30 – 08.00 NZT Theory\, Prana Nidra & Meditation (04.30 – 06.00 AUST) (20.30 – 22.00 Norwegian time).\n17.00 – 18.50 NZT Asana\, Pranayama\, Mudra\, Bandha & Meditation (15.00 – 16.50 AUST) (7.00 – 8.50 Norwegian time).\n  \n6 sessions on Zoom with Karma Karuna costs 1400\,- NOK (234.64 NZD)[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n\n\nFull Weekend Schedule\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n\n17.00 – 18.50 NZT (07.00 – 08.50 Norwegian time): Asana\, Pranayama\, Mudra\, Bandha & Meditation with Karma Karuna by Zoom\n21.00 – 22.45 NZT (11.00 – 12.45 Norwegian time): Breath -practice and theory + yoga nidra with Silje\n03.00 – 03:45 NZT (17.00 – 17.45 Norwegian time): Mantras and discover prana through sound with Silje\n06.30 – 08.00 NZT (20.30 – 22.00 Norwegian time): Theory\, Prana Nidra & Meditation with Karma Karuna by Zoom \nThe first class is on Thursday 03.00 NZT (17.00 Norwegian time) and the last session on Sunday is a closing circle from 00.00 – 01.00 NZT (14.00 – 15.00 Norwegian time). \nFor the full retreat with Karma Karuna and Silje it costs 1900\,- NOK (318.44 NZD)\n  \n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n\n\nAdditional Information\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]To view different timezones\, click here \nWe will make a recording of all sessions and you will have them available for 1 month after the course. \nFor bookings and more info click here\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row gap=”35″][vc_column][vc_column_text]\n\nSwami Karma Karuna\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”8117″ img_size=”large” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Swami Karma Karuna Saraswati is an engaging\, intuitive yoga and meditation teacher\, inspirational speaker\, writer and Yoga Therapist with 30 years of experience. \nShe is passionate about sharing an authentic and down to earth approach\, weaving together the ancient practices with a touch of psychology and brain science aimed at motivating people to live their yoga here and now.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]\nExplore Other Retreats & Events\n[/vc_column_text]Developing Resilience Online CourseHosted by: Anahata Yoga RetreatWith: Swami Karma KarunaJuly 1\, 2022 - July 1\, 2024Havan (Sacred Fire Ceremony) – Every SaturdayHosted by: Anahata Yoga RetreatNovember 12\, 2022 - December 28\, 2024Nervous System Reset 2024Hosted by: Anahata Yoga RetreatMay 19 @ 6:30 pm - July 14 @ 8:00 pmView All Retreats and Events [/vc_column][/vc_row] URL:https://www.anahata-retreat.org.nz/event/prana-pranayama-prana-vidya CATEGORIES:Anahata Retreats,Online Courses, Retreats & Events,Upcoming Events ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://www.anahata-retreat.org.nz/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/IMG_2871-2.jpg END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20210620 DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20210621 DTSTAMP:20240511T014527 CREATED:20210516T033954Z LAST-MODIFIED:20210516T034314Z UID:8588-1624147200-1624233599@www.anahata-retreat.org.nz SUMMARY:Nelson International Yoga Day 2021 DESCRIPTION:[vc_row gap=”35″][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”8589″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]\nOverview\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Join Nelson teachers to celebrate International Yoga Day! \nSince 2014\, all over the world\, June 21st has been celebrated as International Yoga Day.
