SUMMARY:Active Hope - Deep Ecology & Yoga Retreat
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row gap=”35″][vc_column][vc_column_text el_class=”content-subheader” color=”#ff9900″]\nJoin us for an extraordinary\, heart-felt journey into enhanced connection and empowerment through Deep Ecology & Yoga\n[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”7804″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\n\nWhy join this Deep Ecology retreat?\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]We are alive at an extraordinary moment in time. It is a time of growing uncertainty\, yet also time of great possibility when creativity\, courage and collective action can help cultivate change. This is a time when many of us are seeking ways to reconnect to one another and to the living Earth. \nDeep ecology is a holistic approach to facing the current challenges on Earth that brings together thinking\, feeling\, spirituality and action. It involves moving beyond the individualism of Western culture also seeing ourselves as part of the Earth. This leads to a deeper connection with life\, where Ecology is not just seen as something ‘out there’\, but something we are a part of and have a role to play in. \nIn this retreat\, we will draw on the work of Joanna Macy\, John Seed and Arne Naess. We will use theories and interactive practices from The Work That Reconnects to reconnect to out own true nature\, the web of life\, and to our human community. \nThis work supports us to experience first hand that we are larger\, stronger\, deeper\, and more creative than we have been brought up to believe. Opening our hearts and our minds to the love\, the grief we feel for our world\, empowers us to act on behalf of the Earth. \n \n[/vc_column_text][vc_video link=”https://youtu.be/FOVxwBVYf1I”][vc_column_text]\n\nRetreat Overview\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]This retreat combines the transformational journeys of Deep Ecology and Yoga under the guidance of experienced facilitators in a nurturing and safe environment. \nIn the Deep Ecology sessions\, you will be guided through the four stages of the spiral of the The Work That Reconnects in a journey of experiential practices\, poetry\, ritual\, song\, movement and silence. We explore and deepen our connections to Self\, each other\, and all Life\, in order to take part in the Healing of our World. \nYoga brings us into balance and harmony\, giving us the ability to enjoy life\, fulfil our potential and find our true identity. We will be practicing traditional yogic practices including Asana\, Pranayama\, Yoga Nidra\, Havan and Meditation. These yogic practices will encourage us to tune into both the universal nature alongside our own. \nWe hope that a combination of the two will empower you to act on behalf of Earth with clarity\, love and direction. \nNo previous experience in either Yoga or Deep Ecology necessary. \nTake a look at our blog titled – Deep Ecology – What’s it all about? Here we interview Inna Alex about her experiences of Deep Ecology and why the movement is important. \n \n[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”2411″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]\nThe Retreat Programme Includes\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]3 nights\, shared accommodation (unless camping) with meals and full retreat programme\, including:\n \n\nFour stages of the spiral of The Work That Reconnects: experiential practices\, poetry\, ritual\, song\, movement and silence.\nHatha yoga classes\nGuided meditation\nYoga Nidra (deep relaxation)\nFire Ceremony (Havan)\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”6940″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]\nAdditional Info\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Start Time: 4pm Friday 28th April arrival / registration\nFinish Time: 4pm Monday 1st May \nRetreat Cost:\nShared accommodation: NZ$540-690*\nCamping: NZ$490-640*\nEarly Bird Discounts: Take $50 off\, if payment is completed by March 31st.\n*Prices include Shared Accommodation (unless Camping)\, all meals and the full Retreat Programme \n\n\nContact: innaevolution.nz@gmail.com for more information. SUMMARY:VEDA Festival 2023

In fact\, Nirvāṇa is a term found in the texts of all major Eastern religions – Hindu\, Buddhist\, Sikh\, and Jain traditions. ‘Nirvāna’ is the highest spiritual state of being that the festival will help the audience unpack and gain clarity on. \nSwami Karma Karuna will be on the opening panel discussing Why Nirvana Matters: A Yogic Perspective and holding a workshop on The Power of Om. \nShe will be accompanied by other speakers including Professor Paul Morris\, Lharampa Geshe Wangchen\, Sara Janvekar and Bramachari Ishaan Chaitanya. \nWant to join? With the VEDA Festival\, we provide an opportunity for the community to know about Eastern spiritual wisdom which shares profound intrinsic benefits for everyone. Auckland has already witnessed three successful VEDA festivals in 2018\, 2019\, and 2020 with the following themes\nThe VEDA or knowledge festival is dedicated to people who like to think about living\, its purpose\, and many issues related to life. The festival endeavors to bring together experts\, thinkers\, intellectuals\, and practitioners to share deeper truths about life and its mysteries. This festival is being organized on a not-for-profit basis to spread awareness of the benefits of the wisdom of the East which has been the science of life for centuries across many generations and civilizations. The festival aims to provide a platform to share\, research\, and gain more clarity on popular life concepts like reincarnation. To decode such concepts\, we are inviting experts from the field of Yoga\, Vedanta\, Buddhism\, psychology\, and philosophy. Leading practitioners of Eastern spirituality will also conduct workshops on practices that offer a holistic roadmap to journey through our karmic lives. \nFestival highlights\n– Featuring distinguished speakers from Australia\, New Zealand\, and India who will share their expertise on the wisdom from the Hindu and Buddhist perspectives\n– Round up panel discussions with Q & A\n– Breakout workshops on life knowledge that could transform our living\n– Covering a broad range of topics with a focus on ‘Nirvāna’\, the choices we need to make to attain this perfect state.\n– Opportunity to mingle with speakers\, researchers\, and practitioners of Eastern spirituality informally \nDate: Saturday 20 May 2023\nTime: 2 pm to 5.00 pm\nVenue: CHINMAYA Wellbeing & Events Centre\, 63 McKenzie Road\, Mangere Bridge\, Auckland\nExchange: $10 \n\nBook ONLINE HERE.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]\nTeachers\n[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”10200″ alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Swami Karma Karuna\, founding member and director of Anahata Yoga Retreat\, NZ\, is an engaging\, intuitive yoga teacher with more than 25 years of training and experience.
