MEALSAll meals provided are vegetarian - simple, nutritious & satisfying. Much of our organic food is sourced from local growers or picked fresh from our garden, which is developed along permaculture design principles. We have a closed kitchen policy and no personal cooking is permitted. However the option of cooking alongside one of the retreat residents and learning about sattwic food preparation and prasad is a possibility during your stay if you choose. Some special dietary requirements for food intolerances or allergies can be catered to with prior advance notice; however we advise guests in this situation to bring their own supply of certain foods, eg. soy milk or gluten-free bread. InternetWe are only able to provide internet access for essential communications, e.g. booking flights and other crucial travel arrangements. Casual internet access for general Email and web browsing is unavailable due to our reliance on and limited supply of solar power. We have a satellite broadband connection that is quite power hungry! Deposit/Refund PolicyA non-refundable deposit of NZ$100 is required to reserve your space. A cancellation fee of one night's stay will be charged for early departures. MealsEat to live, don't live to eat. Food nourishes us and provides our physical body with the energy it needs to go about its daily activities. All meals at Anahata are vegetarian - simple, nutritious & satisfying. We provide 3 Vegetarian meals per day: Breakfast: a light meal to break the fast from the previous night. Lunch: the main meal of the day, when our digestive fires are the strongest. Dinner: a light meal to ensure that all food is completely digested before going to sleep. The water at Anahata is from a pure mountain spring and is absolutely safe to drink. The kitchen is not to be used for personal cooking. If you have medically related food requirements or allergies, please inform reception on arrival. Food is not allowed in the bedrooms. Please bring any special foods that you require (e.g. soy milk). They can be marked and kept in the kitchen.
