Sivananda Math India

Sivananda Math was founded by Swami Satyananda in 1984, in memory of his guru, Swami Sivananda. It is the arm of Satyananda Yoga that serves and cares for others. It is an organisation established to promote health and education to the villagers and people around Rikhia and other areas in India.

Help has been offered in many ways such as providing food, housing and proper winter clothing; job placement and business development; distributing seeds, farming implements and other necessities.

Several thousand school children have been supported to receive education with English language classes at the Alakh Bara, and a charitable health clinic services the whole area. Computers have been donated and the children are being trained in up-to-date computer technology.

Sivananda Math also cares for pensioners and widowed women, and has elevated the standard of living in this area enormously.

All services are provided free to everyone in need.
